"Had so much fun doing the ~2.5 hour section. Getting started and taking out were easy and convenient. Nice people, beautiful stretch of the river. I will return with friends!" Natalie
"Scanning the Sauble River Kayak QR code with my phone was a great move!! Enjoyed a beautiful float along the scenic river. Best way I can think of to enjoy the Manistee forest area! Helpful and professional." Liz
"I highly recommend taking an adventure down the Sauble River with Sauble River Kayaks. The river is beautiful and peaceful with lots of wildlife (we saw an eagle!). Put in, take out and transportation were very easy and the team was very kind and fun!" Remi
"Just got off the river. Wow!!! Perfect river for a leisurely float (or paddle) with pristine views. Lots of blue jays and ducks with a few blue herons for good measure. Water never gets deeper than 2 feet in the summer with lots of areas less than 6”. Just enough challenges to keep you on your toes. Downed trees, shallow water, a few tricky navigational spots keep you pretty busy. I will be back for fall colors and as often as I can Todd (your host) is very accommodating and an experienced river rat himself. Best deal around for $50 and plenty of places to stay, dine, and enjoy the sand dunes of Lake Michigan's shoreline. Highly recommend finding some time and enjoy this amazing experience." Brad
"Absolutely fantastic experience today. The river was so peaceful and beautiful! All uninterrupted by man, no houses, no car noise, just peace. We enjoyed the relaxing trip, the scenery and wildlife (fish, deer, turtles, birds and our own guardian crane that followed us the entire trip). There was a nice mix of easy kayaking and a few areas that you had to navigate around downed trees. All sand bottom, clear water average about 3ft deep. Easy drop off and pick up. We will definitely take this trip again." Kayce
"By far the best kayaking experience I’ve had. Tracking through the pristine Manistee National Forest, the Sable takes you back in time, as it switches back and forth over miles of Michigan wilderness. It’s spring-fed and clear and runs just fast enough to keep things flowing lol! SRK livery has great new equipment, and the staff are very knowledgeable about the river and the entire area. Don’t miss this one!" Steve
"Immersed in northern Michigan nature. Thats the best way to describe Sauble River Kayaks. Visiting the lake is always fun, but there is no better way to enjoy the natural beauty of the area mixed with the wildlife. The river is pristine, clear and soothing if you want to dock your kayak in a shallow stretch of water to cool off. A beautiful great blue heron may even guide your journey flitting from one tree branch to the next as you weave your way down the Sauble.
I can't wait to come back best kayak experience in northern Michigan!" Liam
"Sauble River Kayaks made my first “river” kayaking trip enjoyable, memorable, and effortless. As someone new to outdoor extracurricular activities I was a bit nervous, I have only kayaked twice and with Tour guides.
Sauble River Kayaks was timely, communicative, and knowledgeable of the area/river and of kayaking. Overall, I would highly recommend for all kayakers (beginners or advanced). The river itself has some beginner level obstacles and plenty of sandy spots to stop if needed. We had a group, and it took us about 3 hours to complete. Group had a variety of capabilities levels. For the affordable price, why not check it out!" Molly
"This was my favorite kayaking experience I’ve ever had! We saw bald eagles, deer and were even guided by a brave Herron for most of our trip. So cool! The river was chilly, so it felt great in the hot sun. The water was so clear that you could see the smooth sandy bottom the whole way through. The team is super nice and helpful! The kayaks and paddles were in amazing condition. I can’t wait to return next summer!" Madeline
"We took a kayak trip shortly after they officially opened and couldn't be more impressed! The river is fantastic and moves at a good pace, but not super fast. The river has plenty of trees and stumps to maneuver around, but nowhere did we have a hard time doing so or need to get out of the kayak. The river bottom is mostly sandy and maybe only 2-3 feet deep in most places. The kayaks and paddles were new (obviously) and the in/out process was smooth. HIGHLY recommend it and will certainly be back for another trip!" Mike
