Life jackets are not strictly required. However, they are highly recommended.

Most experienced kayakers wear life jackets regardless of river conditions. Properly fitted life jackets DO save lives!

SRK provides mandated flotation devices to all kayakers.

Risk Acknowledgment

Like all active outdoor activities, river paddling carries inherent risks. We advise against participation in our trips by anyone under the influence of medication, drugs, or alcohol. Pregnant women should carefully evaluate their physical condition, paddling abilities, and the specific risks associated with the Sauble River Kayaks. It is the responsibility of the group leader to communicate our policies to any party members who might not visit our office to receive this information directly. Sauble River Kayaks does not accept liability for personal injuries or accidents. Group leaders are required to sign a waiver and release form before embarking on the trip.

Respectful River Etiquette

We want you to have a safe and enjoyable experience on the river. Please exercise common sense and courtesy while on the river. The land along the rivers belongs to the State or National Forest and is public and there is land privately owned. It is important to respect these boundaries and not to trespass on private property. We ask that you help preserve the peaceful river experience for everyone.

Alcohol and Paddlesports: A Dangerous Combination

For reasons of social responsibility, safety, and environmental protection, Sauble River Kayaks enforces a strict alcohol policy, limiting each person to three beers. Hard alcohol, Jello shots, and other intoxicants are prohibited. Please ensure you are willing to comply with this policy against excessive alcohol consumption before making a reservation with Sauble River Kayaks. To avoid any misunderstandings, we request that you inform all members of your group about this policy prior to your arrival. We thank you for your cooperation in maintaining the safety and tranquility of our rivers.
